After Peugeot took
over Citroën in 1975, they developed quick a "new" car: the LN, which
was a Peugeot 104 with the 602 cc 2CV engine. Introduced on the Paris Motor
Show in 1976. In 1978 it became the 652 cc engine of the Visa and was then
called LNA.

The Visa replaced the AMI8 in 1978, had a 652 cc air-cooled flat twin engine, developed from the 602 cc 2CV engine. It was then a 4CV (the AMI 8 was a 3CV) and had 36 bhp at 5.500 rpm. The Visa was also available with a Peugeot 4 in-line engine. The Visa became a big succes after the front was modified and it was shortly called Visa II. |
