In the Congo the 2CV gets in the middle
of a herd of elephants, bu they can't say that they weren't warned! |

The elephants are not the only attraction
in Congo.
On this trip this 2CV is the first one

Right after their arrival back in France

on the rocks...
One of the problems that you encounter
when making a trip with a 2CV through Africa or Asia: the roads, or the
non-existence of them!!
In the fifties Citroën awarded people
who made the best travel-story about a trip with a 2CV. |

Raid Afrique
1973
In the seventies Citroën organised
themselves trips for young people with 2CV's. In 1970 a couple of hundred
2CV's leave Paris in the direction Kaboel (Afghanistan). In 1972 the same
happens and the target now is Persepolis (Iran).
In 1973 fifty 2CV's are shipped to Abidjan
and the 100 participants follow their cars later by plane. From there they
drive home to France through the Téneré desert in a month
time. |
